What this site collects, and why.
Short version: I collect what I need to answer your note and to understand which pages are worth writing. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with advertisers.
Arbor View Consulting, LLC is a one-person product leadership practice based in Colorado. This policy covers arborviewconsulting.com and any conversation that starts from it.
What I collect
When you contact me
The contact form asks for your name, email address, company, and whatever you write in the message. Company is optional; the rest is not, because I can’t reply without them. If you email me directly instead, I have whatever your message contains.
Automatically, when you visit
Three things run on this site:
- Google Analytics 4. Sets cookies in your browser and records pages viewed, approximate location from your IP address, referring site, and device and browser type. Google processes this on my behalf. IP addresses are truncated before storage.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics. Counts page views without cookies and without tracking anyone across sites.
- Google Fonts. The typefaces load from Google’s servers, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads. This is true of most sites and is easy to miss, so it’s worth naming.
This site is hosted by Netlify, which keeps standard server logs, and the contact form is handled by Netlify Forms.
Why I collect it
Contact details exist so I can reply to you and, if we work together, run the engagement. Analytics exist so I can see which pages people actually read and write more of what’s useful. That is the whole list. I don’t run ads, I don’t sell or rent anything to anyone, and I don’t add you to a mailing list because you filled in the form.
How long I keep it
Inquiries stay in my email and in Netlify while a conversation is live and for as long as the working relationship makes them useful. Analytics data is retained by Google for a limited window set in my account and then deleted automatically. If you’d rather I didn’t keep your note, say so and I’ll delete it.
Who else sees it
Netlify and Google, in the roles described above, plus my email provider. No one else. I don’t share inquiries with clients, partners, or anyone else without asking you first.
Your choices
You can ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email julie@arborviewconsulting.com and I’ll handle it myself. Depending on where you live — the EU, the UK, Colorado, California, and a growing list of other places — you may have these as formal legal rights. I’d honor the request either way.
To opt out of the analytics specifically, you can install Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or block cookies for this site in your browser settings. Nothing on the site stops working if you do.
Children
This is a business-to-business site. It isn’t directed at children, and I don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes
If what I collect changes, I’ll update this page and change the date at the top. There’s no version history worth keeping for a site this size.
